Electricity from power plants travels over long distances to reach our homes. It uses a network called the power grid. Imagine the grid as a giant spider web of wires covering cities and towns.
This grid is carefully managed to make sure everyone gets the right amount of electricity, even when lots of people are using it at once, like during summer when air conditioners are on.
