Chapter 3: What is a Battery?
Batteries store electricity. They have chemicals inside that create a flow of electrons, providing energy to devices when there’s no plug around. Imagine a battery as a small container holding extra energy for when you need it.
Inside the battery, there are two sides called terminals. When you connect the battery to something like a toy car, electrons move from one terminal, through the car, and back to the other terminal, making the car go.
