Chapter 8: Discovering Magnets and their Magic
Magnets have a special power. They can pull certain metals, like iron, towards them without actually touching them. This invisible force is called a magnetic field.
Every magnet has two ends, called poles – a north pole and a south pole. Opposite poles attract each other, but similar poles push each other away. If you’ve held two magnets close, you’ve felt this invisible push or pull.
