How do we get electricity to our homes? Big power plants make electricity by turning turbines. These are like giant fans. They spin around really fast and use motion to generate electricity.
Power plants use different sources to spin these turbines, like wind, water, or steam. Wind turbines use wind, hydropower plants use moving water, and steam turbines often use heat from burning fuels.
