Just then she heard something splashing about in the pool a little way off, and she swam nearer to make out what it was: 🔊

It was so large a house, that she did not like to go nearer till she had nibbled some more of the lefthand bit of mushroom, and raised herself to about two feet high: 🔊

Alice thought this a very curious thing, and she went nearer to watch them, 🔊

Of course it is,’ said the Duchess, who seemed ready to agree to everything that Alice said; ‘theres a large mustard-mine near here. 🔊

and near the King was the White Rabbit, with a trumpet in one hand, and a scroll of parchment in the other. 🔊

She carried the pepper-box in her hand, and Alice guessed who it was, even before she got into the court, by the way the people near the door began sneezing all at once. 🔊

Alice could see this, as she was near enough to look over their slates; ‘but it doesn’t matter a bit,’ she thought to herself. 🔊
